Whites Shooting Blacks in Katrina’s ‘Hidden Race War’

An 18-month investigation revealed a ‘hidden race war’ in post-Katrina New Orleans in which white vigilante groups shot at least 11 African-American men. These shootings have not been investigated by local police.
The investigation, conducted by A.C. Thompson, with support from the Investigative Fund at The National Institute, ProPublica and the Center for Investigative Reporting and New American Media, quoted a surgeon at a trauma center as saying, “There were a lot of gunshot wounds that went unreported,” in the month after Hurricane Katrina devastated the Gulf Coast. Some of the vigilantes described their actions in various news reports, home videos and documentary films, including “Welcome to New Orleans
Thompson reviewed more than 800 autopsy reports and copious state health department data, identifying five New Orleanians who had died “under suspicious circumstances.” There have been no arrests in these deaths.

I findi it Ironic how this website which purports to be part of the NAACP..reports this tragedy..Is it not the NAACP’S job to prosecute injustice??
